Growing older |
|
|
|
Many injuries are often dismissed as "just getting
old" and yes, more older people have problems with their
joints and muscles than young people and it does have something
to do with the way our bodies age. But sometimes these problems
are to do with an abuse of a part of our body like bursitis
in our knees from scrubbing the floor kneeling down. However
more often they are due to lack of use and inactivity. If
your muscles are trim and in good tone and your body weight
is normal and you have a regular exercise programme, then
your body will not grow old as rapidly. This will also keep
calcium in your bones, your bursae free and well lubricated
and your tendons firm and strong and your joint cartilage
well nourished.
